She cried, she buried him, and Raisa found she couldn't easily leave him. She barely knew him, nor he, her, but he'd frozen to death out here escorting her to wherever she needed to go. He'd never been anything but dutiful and now he lay beneath the snow, cold, gone. Was it her? If it was, she was sure it was a curse, and not blind loyalty -- she'd never done anything to warrant treatment like that, nor would she call Blackfoot, Rajani, or Akuji's deaths her fault.
Still, it was hard to reason with an irrational thought sharpened by grief.
And still, she knew she had to leave. Arvid and Northfall were waiting for her, and she had to make sure she turned up for his fathers celebration of life - they both knew the pain of losing their loved ones. It was personally important, and important to the budding alliance. So she'd gone, and she found she'd been having a good enough time, but she couldn't shake her grief.
The very delicious berries she'd been introduced to were good for that, though. She was neck-deep in festivities and enjoying the stupor with.... fuck, she didn't know. Some others.
And she heard her name.
What the fuck was happening? Did lions hibernate?! Had she accidentally buried him and in doing so nearly killed him?! Was she THAT drunk? She spun about and took off running, and there was a tiger coming towards her.
Carnifex?!
She called back out to him, sure it was his voice, but...
Fuck, the tiger was the same creamy color he had been, and sure, she noticed that his stripes were the same color as his large hair had been... but....
What. The Fuck.
