She gingerly lapped her tongue over her red-stained paws, with blood now stained over her face. She was contented, lying in the warmth of the sun beside a benevolent man with a belly full of fresh food. What more could she ask for?
She shut her eyes, folding her ears back.

I... don't know how I got here.Nothing beyond that, anyway. In truth, she could truly only remember fleeting moments of that day—of Amaris haphazardly dragging her over the ice, and the sheer agony that gripped her entire body.
Cvetka frowned. Her tail slowed to a halt. It wasn't the most pleasant thing to remember.
