The scent of sweetness had lured her like a fly towards a trap. She couldn’t explain it. Not in the way her paws made forward, as if by their own volition, and toward a leering cave in the distance. It lay far past the howling river at her back, the distant echo of what had once been home a fleeting memory as she walked. Nadya knew Kai was near, somewhere in the expansive plains that promised freedom for them both. Although her throat, caught between the whistling wind and the scent of honey, had closed, no sound could be emitted to let her companion know.

Instead, she trailed after the warm, fruitful scent like a woman spellbound beneath the sky.

And before she knew it, she had entered the cave.

However, it was not the scent of waterlogged moss or wet, seeping mold that greeted her. Rather, as if she had wandered straight into a garden of flowers, the scent of petals washed her senses in seamless waves. Not a while after, as her paws continued to scurry in their own conscious march, the cavern walls broke free from the graying rock and earth-bound elements and seemingly transformed before her eyes.

With their hanging tendrils of leaves, Willow trees brushed her sides in a sensitive and caring caress akin to a kindred hug. Although, they were clearly not the traditional type of willow. In fact, their grooving roots twisted like vines across their widened trunks until the etchings of curved, heart-like shapes ran up their sides.

Peculiar….

Her rosy gaze narrowed against their clear protrusions, and though a part of her wished to touch it and gently place a paw atop that rugged exterior, she resisted. Instead, she continued forward with the comforting reminder of her snake across her neck.

Anyone out there? She called out into the trees.

"It's another tequila sunrise, starin' slowly 'cross the sky I said goodbye"
