She had felt the earth rumble.

Once more, the land grew restless.

Once more, Amaranth's dreams were tainted by visions.

But it would seem that this time, she was not alone in her visions. The whole of Elysium seemed to wake with a strange jolt, bodies drifting with the same purpose, as if riled by the quaking of the earth beneath them. Even Valeska had drifted from the den, striding with determination toward the very heart of their territory.

There was a smell as Amaranth neared, her nostrils flaring before she even approached the edge of the water. There were already many gathered at the shoreline, some braver than others as their curisoties drove them to action. Some only watched it, while others were brave enough to taste and touch the water. There seemed to be a haze that hovered over the Respite as Valeska's voice caught her ears.

Amaranth need not approach further to understand something.

Elysium was cursed.

Amaranth would slow, not daring to even get a few feet from the water, even though a small voice in her mind egged her forward. She would resist, wuffing lightly toward Valeska as her wife tentatively tasted the lake. Valeska, she'd huff, an urgency tainting the normal soronous softness of her voice. She would blink, amethyst eyes wide as she awaited Valeska's appraisal.

And it only sealed her former thoughts.

"Cursed"

But ... was it only Elysium?
