To the great relief of Euphemia, the unknown man ceased in his voyage across her very backyard. It seemed she had surprised him, guessing by his raised hackles and the overall aloof air about him. Euphemia stood with her stance strong, lip daring to lift over fanged ivories at what she perceived as cockiness. Shouldn’t someone who was doing wrong be quick to apologize, once they’ve been really and truly found out? Was he not sorry to be trespassing?
Euphemia narrowed her gaze into something prickly and indignant. She watched him silently. No, he didn’t seem to have any knowledge of his wrongdoing at all. It hadn’t occurred to her at all that, perhaps he was meant to be here – but the realization was dawning on her, even though he did not smell much of Dawnbreak and she had never seen him before this very moment.
Still, Euphemia did not want to trust him immediately.
Who are you? What are you doing here?she questioned succinctly, hoping the answers would come easily and see this misunderstanding undone – or to see any wrongs, righted.
