Thread Title: Shrek: 「 I’m a Believer

Lylith had been avoiding the pink trees of springtime wonder, truthfully they reminded her of Gamma. Even now the yearling mourned her friend, each day was a vicious cycle of anger, pain, and numbness. It was difficult to recall what it was like to not suffer; the young Aktaion may not have even known what such relief actually felt like. Her siblings, father, mother, and only friend were taken without warning. Lylith had never been able to recover from the previous loss in time for the new one to arrive. The ever growing grief was crushing her.

Walking without aim, fiery eyes focused on the ground. Occasionally, Lylith would kick a rock or snap a twig that was sitting in her path. There was no reason for it beyond the constant yearning for distractions. One of the small pebbles she’d kicked up had ricocheted off a nearby tree trunk and tumbled back into her walking space. Lylith prickled, her lips twitched as they lifted to reveal off-white teeth in the form of a threat. How dare this thing come back and challenge her like that!

Angrily, the yearling swiped her paw with an unnecessary amount of force and sent the small stone flying in the opposite direction. With furrowed brows and snorting like a bull, Lylith looked towards the tree that had unknowingly pissed her off.

It was one of those stupid fucking flower trees.

Lylith growled beneath her breath, ears splaying as they naturally got into a defensive position. She hated this tree. It was the worst tree. It deserved to be uprooted and torn to pieces.

Fueled by blind fury and unhealthily bottled emotions, Lylith launched at the tree and began to strip its bark.
