Story Unlocked, Part One : 「 The First Dawn 」

All creatures of Mythris experience this dream.

Those who were not involved IC before will likely be confused or frightened, as they were not aware of anything regarding the situation prior.

You close your eyes and fall into a deep, dreamless sleep.

At first.

Suddenly you feel as if you're falling, plummeting to the earth from an impossible height as clouds rush past your face until you realize you don't have one, you don't even have a body at all, you're a disembodied spirit careening through the air -

- you're not falling at all. You're flying.

You descend much slower, now. The world below is tinted in a grainy haze, as if looking through a poorly filtered glass until everything comes into focus all at once.

It's Mythris, but different. Barren, formless, and somehow larger than you ever remembered it being - twice the size of the continent you're familiar with. Time seems to skip ahead as you realize everything is being played out in fast-motion, and the earth pulses a strange, dim blue as the landscape across its surface is gradually transformed into a lush paradise over untold millennia - mere seconds to your eyes.

Time slows to its normal pace as your vision suddenly goes dark. When your sight returns, you see thousands, millions of sleeping forms of every species imaginable - many you have never seen before - lifting their heads to wake up for the very first time.

There is no context as to how they arrived. They simply became, and now lived - the natives of Mythris, the first to ever breathe its rich air. Created; not taken from other worlds. No past precedes them, no lives lived before, no histories to burden them with sorrow or loss, no sin to stain their souls - pure and full of light, they venture into the world around them with eyes full of wonder.

You feel as if the world existed for an unknown period of time from that point, living in peace, prosperous and content as the sensation washes over you along with the peculiar knowledge that Mythris is... pleased. Is that even possible, you wonder?

You realize a steadily-growing pressure has been building within the bedrock.

The air sparks to life; you can see thin tendrils of electric-blue arcing through the empty spaces.

The earth suddenly begins to shake, a great rumbling sounding far below the surface - glowing blue rays of light shoot out from the earth as it suddenly splits apart, the air crackling with energy as the latent power Mythris had drawn from to shape itself had gone unused and unspent for too long. It could not be contained.

The great pangea-like landmass that life originated from splits asunder before your eyes. Animals panic, fleeing in terror as trees and foliage and all manner of wildlife fall into the chasm that forms.

Mythris is split in two; the other continent, unshackled from its partner continues to drift away, far out of sight and beyond the horizon.

All that remains is the Mythris you know, the Mythris you are familiar with. You recognize the shape of Lake's Halo; you see well the icy crags of the northern alpines, and to the east, you see the vast, empty ocean where its other half had once occupied.

Drat sepal lab eip kol tie yia fir nie... eip sepa ti wu, the voice says. Dre ertifarnal yia sak ere lab drat remon fier laba cililitaan lok, shielfusil widr sagmelkal fier drir tsut kieir... aln drir focual

The scene before you transitions to the present day - you can even see yourself, fast asleep - when suddenly, all across the surface of the continent and in every region, glowing caverns form and take shape.

Azjulk hilwaal tutil anali Drem... yia ma nie use drese kirtalal ali shinfir lalel tsut dikazjal shiel yiar surth.

The voice sighs weakly, and you feel its exhaustion. Whoever the speaker, they had used the last of their strength to impart these visions to you.

Dre olk magyl kol yet sepa usil ali sale drose yia lole, sepafire dre klage krudal - sepafire ut sepal ti late, it whispers, faltering with the effort. It's a struggle to catch the last, waning words of the speaker before their voice fades away entirely, but this time it needs no translation in your mind.

You are different... you must be different. Not like those who came before...

Light floods your eyes, and you wake with a terrible sense of urgency.

The plague has spread in the night.

Unlocked : 「 Fast-travel 」

With the discovery of the Artifact, an ancient magic has come to life and infused the land with forgotten memories from long ago.

Whoever it was that populated the world of Mythris prior, they had managed to create mysterious tunnels in every section of the continent to travel quickly between regions - as you step into one, you feel an electricty sparking around you. Ten steps equals a thousand, and through these byways, you are now able to cross vast distances within a single day using these ancient caverns.
