She had watched the beast of a man would start to unfold from the rage that bound him, Mauve had seen the same anger that took over him before. He had his reasons, and Mauve had no intentions of prying if he did not wish to speak with her. It was none of her business, but she had only hoped that he would calm down enough not to hurt himself… and others who were not as lucky as her. His breath would slow, and a chuckle like gravel crossed her ears.
His large form would draw closer, she would stand where she was, accepting his advances, only hoping Riptide did not see him as a threat. She felt the gush of heat draw to her ears, painting the cream a deepened red if one were to look hard enough. Mauve had forgotten how strange it was to be in the presence of a man who did not belong to her hoard. Riptide, she had seen in a different light, indicating his closeness as ‘part of the job,’ nothing more. However, Jaxxon was not her knight; he was a man, and she a woman.
Those feelings were soon pushed away as she witnessed the emotion behind the anger, the raw suffering he was feeling. An emotion she was all too familiar with… loss. He had expressed in a broken tone… losing someone of such importance. Her ears would falter downward, his gaze no longer able to keep. A small frown curved her lips, and she would break the distance between them. Caring little about dignity and how a lady should not be seen touching someone of the opposite sex. Her instincts were to comfort, to help alleviate the loneliness he felt.
Having been much smaller than her, her chin would settle near the lower part of his shoulder, bringing her paw to touch his own as she gently applied pressure, as if squeezing his hand, “I’m sorry.” Her voice just barely above a whisper, “I’m so sorry you have to endure such a loss.” She wished she could annihilate the pain, but she knew she couldn’t. He had to endure it, he had to work through his emotions, and eventually, with time, he would be okay. However, he did not have to suffer alone.
