Andvari's dark eyes focused on the river. A gentle, babbling song as crystal clear water raced over a pebbled riverbed. A marvelous sight. Were it not for the reflection of light atop the river's surface, Andvari could be tricked into believe the fish that travelled along the current were simply floating in a ditch.

I think water this clear would show us a gateway if it held one. There is no strain to his voice.

If i were to try I believe it would be best to try again in the dark depths of that lake. It had been where he surfaced in this new world. Far be it from him to know the whims of the gods. The stout man returned the woman's smile. I've no doubt that the village can fair without me. We wouldn't be prospering if the absence of one man would bring it to its knees, yes?

He trusted his kin and comrades to fair well without him. The free-spirited nature of the children may need to be tempered with one less set of eyes on the wood, but the year's whelps would be stalking the pine wood any day now.

What man wouldn't be content with you? There is a tease to his voice but he is earnest. Andvari found his companion to be a kind and capable woman. If you've a name in mind, I'd be sure to give him a talking to.
