Tyr's reply plunged through the fluffy smokescreen of Cupid's little game - a sword to prick at his heart, the Skorungr's aim never wavering.
Cupid's heart skipped and his ears pinned into his fur. A feather tugged free of his silken pelt to take flight on the wind, untethered by gravity. It felt like floating here with his sweet-scented warrior, bound not to time or space. The world muted itself beyond them, and Tyr poured himself like mead into Cupid's cupped palms. No shields. No armor. No swords.
Only desire and the divinity within.
The dove pressed his forehead against Tyr's, a shaky exhale easing from his lungs. It was almost too much, too close, and the words to describe the push and pull of his own heart weighed on the tip of Cupid's tongue but never took shape.
