Voting commences! Post below with your character stating who they would like seated in the primary position of each Pillar, as well as their potential Seconds; otherwise the Pillars may choose their own if the other is willing.
It didn't take long for the remainder of Dawnbreak to trickle in, each quietly taking their place. Aurelia always felt a sense of... inadequacy, summoning the pack in this way, a small part of her wondering if many - or any - would show up in the end. She still felt so small, like a child wearing her parents' shoes.
But they had been gone for some time.
She felt pleased at the turnout, and more than that she felt some degree of pride hearing Euphemia put herself forward again. The longer she thought about it, the more comfortable she felt with the idea of someone else at the helm after all this time; perhaps a break would be helpful, she thought distantly.
It is now time to cast our votes,she stated to the small crowd.
For Wisdom, we have myself and Euphemia. For Power, we have Tiberii and Brynhild. For Courage, Nottin.
Drawing herself up, she continued.
As we have no other candidates for Courage, the position will default automatically to him unless there are objections. You may voice them before the closure of this vote.
Unbeknownst to her, many of those gathered were churning through a myriad of political and imagined hierarchical assumptions; to her, there were none. For Aurelia, the vote was meant to be impartial and separate from emotion and personal loyalties, and so she did not readily understand the curious look to Solulfur's questioning eye set upon her.
Oh.
She felt a warm flush in her cheeks.
I know I have held this position since Dawnbreak's formation,she said, directing her attention broadly to the crowd. She was careful not to look Solulfur in the eye, but it was meant for her ears as well as anyone else's.
Please do not think it must always be this way. We are all family here; all of us kin. Vote with your heads, not your hearts. I myself will cast the first vote for Wisdom, for Euphemia - not because she is my only competitor, but because I truly believe she carries a different kind of wisdom we could all benefit from.
Her gaze traveled toward Tiberii next to her.
I cast my vote for Tiberii for Pillar of Power, but not through any fault of Brynhild's - I simply know her better and have established years of trust. I am sure Brynhild is more than capable, regardless, and am at peace with either for the primary position. I am also comfortable with her as Second.
And at last she looked toward Nottin.
Nottin, you have my implicit trust in your role as the Pillar of Courage. I have no objections. You do not have a Second; it may be wise to put out feelers for one, should you wish.
Aurelia bowed her head and withdrew several paces from the center.
Let the vote commence.
