The world split, the isle raged, the land surged with unfettered energy that left the bear feeling uneasy and tense. He did not really want to go back towards the flame he had the sinking suspicion that others might also have investigated. The runes were the key to all of it, and he remembered the words. They echoed in his mind from the haunting dream. If the energy of the world surged would that mean perhaps that the fires had too? Vidarr did not take any company on his jaunt to the howling rivers this time. This time he was alone and spent the trek mulling over the dreams and what all of this meant.

Vidarr hadn’t realized as he edged along the riverbed where only months before he had stayed at Svajonė’s side while she brought Reid earthside. There had been tragedy there, but also an inspiring wonder. Vidarr was fiercely protective of the little sparrow - every day as he grew and learned Vidarr grew prouder of his son. He had thought many times about being a father. If the time had come upon them, perhaps Hilde might have bore his children. The familiar vast ache caused him to pause for a moment, overcome with the sort of grief that had not fully accepted what could not be.

Vidarr drew in a heavy breath and for a moment he thought he could smell her. Confused, hopeful, the man made his way closer with his lost love on his mind.
