You didn't look for me. We were alone. The floppy ear man and Mama found me...She trailed off. She wanted to be angry, wanted him to feel the loneliness she felt, how it felt to be abandoned in a strange place she had never seen before.
Her small head tilted up to look into her father's eyes, tears pricking the corners of her own.
Daddy, do you not want us anymore?"Her voice came out quieter than she expected. A part of her wasn't sure if she wanted to know.
"Why didn't you come look for me? The other's on the trip. They don't like me either, do they, daddy?Sure, they hadn't hurt her physically, but as small as he was, she still could recall the looks they gave her. Discordia wasn't even sure what she did wrong. She wasn't as hurt by the strangers, but maybe it was why he hadn't looked for her.
Maybe she was the problem, and she didn't know what to do. Her ears folded to her crown as she fought back the tears from falling. She wasn't always the best listener, but she tried. She wanted him to love her and be proud. She wanted him to embrace her and make the pain stop, and before she could quell the tide, tears spilled down her cheeks, her head falling slightly as she prepared to be left to deal with her emotions alone once again. She could be good, she could be like the others. Mama saw the good in her, at least she thought she did...so why couldn't daddy?
