There was a.. a humming filtering through the wind, a tune brushing against his ears; it was familiar and yet.. a mystery of why it was so. He’d never heard this song before.. or at least he hadn’t thought so. It was like a tug, pulling him somewhere further and further until finally..

His deep honey dropped eyes sputtered open, the abrupt rays of sun flickering through the flash of blinking lashes. He was awake.. though hadn’t he always been awake? He didn’t remember falling asleep.. or..

His gaze shifted from his.. paws? Huh.. then to his surroundings, the grass, the trees, the sky. It was a beautiful sight.. however an unfamiliar one.

Where was he?

He had absolutely no clue.. it was.. uncomfortable; he was finding out he knew not of so many things in such a short period of time, how unfortunate, the boy was feeling more lost by the second. All he could do was lift himself from the bed of grass he’d found himself in, and find something he did know.

The boy knew not of where he was heading, just that he was going, wishing for that odd tug to return so that he may find where it led.. alas the wind was as silent as it normally would be, or at least he figured that was the normal, the wind doesn’t usually hum right?.. yea, right.

A sigh of mild frustration would huff through his nostrils. It was quite upsetting finding himself so lost, the only good thing he could find in the moment was the fact that everything had such a beautiful sight to it. The trees, the grass, the flowers, it must’ve been spring, he knew that much and yet why did even that seem so unfamiliar.. even the sky-.. huh.. what’s that?

A blur of blue of blue and yellow glided past the foliage of the trees above, he might’ve thought he was seeing things if he hadn’t seen it again, this time perching on a branch just a bound or two away. The little feathery creature was staring right at him, head tilted and a song filling his ears. Maybe he knew what was going on, where he was! A small, hopeful smile dotted across his lips and he began a quick trot over to the tree where the little birdie had planted itself.

"Hello! Can you..- can you hear me from up there??" His voice traveled, at least he hoped it had. "That’s.. that was a stupid question sorry.. uhm, do you think you could help me? I’m not too sure where I’m at an-" Before he could even finish his attempt of asking for directions, the bird of blue, white and yellow feathers lifted its wings, and fluttered away. "W-wait..!" He’d call out, his paws turning his body and moving to follow in the same direction with a newfound urgency in his steps. "Hey come back! I was just asking a question..!” He hoped his voice would meet the pretty bird, maybe he’d feel some type of sympathy for him, turn back,  give him some kind of direction.. alas, that seemed to very much not be the case.

Not once had he let his eyes leave his little bird.. and perhaps that’s why he’d lost his footing and dove head first into an awfully cold body of water. A stream, not deep enough for him to be swept away, yet so much so his fur was able to wade in it, even if not by lot. His face was now dripping with water, and his fur doing the same likeness just in a less intense manner. He hadn’t cared much for the slight heaviness the water brought.. perhaps he hadn’t even noticed it, all he could see was his help getting lost within the canopy.. leaving him alone, and just as clueless as before..
