I imagine though that if I had met them, it is possible that they might not compare, my dear.He let out a soft chuckle, a light in his eyes returning for a moment in time.
But you are most welcome. It is the least I can do to try and brighten a fair lady's day.It was the kindest thing to do in his opinion. Why hadn't anyone else done the same?
The brightness to his gaze shifted slightly at the change in topic, the change in tone. Family and his past would always be a sore subject. Yet for some strange reason, he found solace in this woman. Took this as a sign that possibly he could trust her. Whether or not that was true in the end, remained to be seen. But at least he was willing to take a chance. A step in the right direction, he supposed.
It was sometimes. But I did my best to get by.
Mother came up next, this time spurring emotions of happiness.
Toorima was protective, always looking out for us. She had a strong adoration for her children, and for those that were close to her. She protected me from birds when I was a young pup. I'm still scared of those damn things. Didn't have the best sense of humor all of the time, but I guess she just had a hard life. But I looked up to her a lot, she was my strength, my courage. I know that she loved us very much, as I did her. That was all that he needed truly. What more could the man ask of the one that gave him life? Nothing.
