For some, fear would withhold the body from expression. But what was life without such expression? What was reward without risk? Sun without shadow?

So many questions could be asked, so many answers unknown. And yet there was a certainty in the way Lindito's tongue traced the top of Calyx's forehead. And a boy, once so lost, became a man in the embrace of someone who'd found him.

Calyx's smile was broad, but for once there was purpose and warmth behind it. His head would pull back, glancing upward toward his larger, one-eyed counterpart with a curious ease.

You were just about to suggest we stick together, weren't you? Of course he was! And Calyx would grin, tinted lips, saliva glittering in a hazy shade of blue. Oh, their story had only just begun — Lindito did not have to announce agreement, for Calyx could create the words for both of them! Convenient, wasn't it?

We could go anywhere, the Cat would continue, gaze drifting between Lindito's solitary globe and the sky. Or nowhere, he'd offer, looking at the other with a tilted head. Any place, with you.

Oh, he could not wait for Lindito to meet his siblings and friends!
