She hadn’t seen much of the world yet, and that was fine. Her entire world was right here, in ma and pa and her many brothers and sisters. If they were all tumbling around inside the den or running around outside, it was all secondary to who she was with.

Since the starlet was never without them, then she was always fine.

She was especially fine now. Mama was here! Her incredible, looming presence stood above her small self, which began to wiggle with the force of her mother’s impending attention. She climbed atop her legs, which had begun to shake with the force of her excitement. What was mama going to say? She always said the best things, and had the best ideas!

A smile spread across her silver mouth at the thought of joining her on patrols. Mom was so cool, always doing jobs and things that Eirlys could only dream of! Mama! Me, mama! I do! the tiny cub cheered, her body wiggling with the anticipation and urge to participate.

She hoped mom would choose her; she really, really, really hoped so!
