Rose — AW at the wedding for puppy shenanigans!

She had been told to behave.

Eden's little lips rounded into a pout: she'd never been spoken to quite so sternly before! Well, Mom was always a bit stern — but Dad?!?! Why was he telling her what to do?? When they were at home, there were only a few rules. Stay in sight. Don't wander off. The simple things. But here? There were a lot more rules.

Don't touch anything. Be nice. Stay close. Behave.

Well, that simply wouldn't do.

She wanted to touch everything. She wanted to play! She wanted to run. And most of all, she didn't want to behave!

Her little hazel eyes would span the crowd, trying not to be distracted by the jubilation all around. All of the adults were so distracted — and they all smelled so sour! Bleck! It was gross! Eden's little nose would squint, and her eyes would trail the edges of the clearing, noting all of the intricate gifts. Flowers. Hides. Shiny rocks.

'Ey, Rose! Eden's little elbow lifted, pushing upward into her twin's chest with sudden eagerness. Look! Eden's eyes glittered, landing on the large pile of shiny gifts.

Did this count as the stuff she couldn't touch??

But it looked so fun!!
