Sunset fallen behind the shadow of the obelisk.
Beyond mazoi standing guard, the High Pristess takes long, swaying steps filled with exhaustion down a path which now worn itself into the earth after so many visits back and forth to this place. The place where once Ra's eternal little flame had smoldered in the Long Night, warming the hearts of his people.
Now, it was gone, yet the Pheonix came still.
Each night she walked this path. Each night she shed tears over the earth as she made her way.
Her mourning was very little compared to what the Great Royal Wife must have felt. Pheonix had never been mother. Not in this life, not the last.
But she cried still.
And again.
And again.
Prayers has been made for the health of the royals pups, and she had failed.
