Listening to her practically spell it out was agonizing. It didn't take a genius to pick up what he was throwing down; Nikolai nodded urgently, still sunk into his play-stance as he very stressfully tried to get her to go along with it. He'd had little success at the feast so far, being a) a child and b) a particularly small one at that, which meant he was either completely overlooked or trampled on in his efforts to reach any of the choicest cuts.

And he wanted them, by golly.

Oh! She cussed!

His face lit up. She cussed just like Babushka! But Babushka said cussing was bad.

He didn't see why.

Fucking party, he parrotted back, clearly delighted. But his delight quickly gave way to despair as she foresaw the imminent future - that of the Chinese becoming angry and giving chase for their lost meal. It was an unfortunate reality, albeit one he was willing to endure if it meant getting the very succulent, very delicious apple of his eye...

He sighed.

But what was she getting at now? What was a potato? And why was it hot?

Um, okay, he said suspiciously, noting how she glanced back toward his coveted prize. She bounced enthusiastically, but Nikolai, also a piece of shit, pursed his child-lips in the wolf equivalent of folding his arms.
