Tunnel of love badge Maverick
The scent of sweetness had lured her like a fly towards a trap. She couldnโ€™t explain it. Not in the way her paws made forward, as if by their own volition, and toward a leering cave in the distance. It lay far past the howling river at her back, the distant echo of what had once been home a fleeting memory as she walked. Nadya knew Kai was near, somewhere in the expansive plains that promised freedom for them both. Although her throat, caught between the whistling wind and the scent of honey, had closed, no sound could be emitted to let her companion know.

Instead, she trailed after the warm, fruitful scent like a woman spellbound beneath the sky.

And before she knew it, she had entered the cave.

However, it was not the scent of waterlogged moss or wet, seeping mold that greeted her. Rather, as if she had wandered straight into a garden of flowers, the scent of petals washed her senses in seamless waves. Not a while after, as her paws continued to scurry in their own conscious march, the cavern walls broke free from the graying rock and earth-bound elements and seemingly transformed before her eyes.

With their hanging tendrils of leaves, Willow trees brushed her sides in a sensitive and caring caress akin to a kindred hug. Although, they were clearly not the traditional type of willow. In fact, their grooving roots twisted like vines across their widened trunks until the etchings of curved, heart-like shapes ran up their sides.

Peculiarโ€ฆ.

Her rosy gaze narrowed against their clear protrusions, and though a part of her wished to touch it and gently place a paw atop that rugged exterior, she resisted. Instead, she continued forward with the comforting reminder of her snake across her neck.

Anyone out there? She called out into the trees.

Mercury hadn't been to active, staying hidden within this odd world. It was terrifying in reality, the world was larger than he expected, vast and new. This all made him feel home sick, so tired and distant. Lost even, his eyes drifted around the landscape, buzzing with curiosity and uncertainty.

With a hum, the ginger male trotted forwards, wishing to escape the area he felt uneasy in and into a newer place. Entering a meadow, gentle and warm, as if warming his soul and welcoming him into an embrace. Soon enough, pink trees ripped his attention away from the meadow. He'd seen these once before, just once, he knew what they were, somewhat. A tunnel, a wormhole to somewhere, or..someone? He didn't know.

Warily, with the fresh scent of another wolf, Mercury strode towards the trees easily. This was familiar, comforting even, he'd seen this and knew it was safe, at least it seemed it was.

The voice ahead drew his attention more, speeding his trot to a jog. Nostrils flaring against the warm air, it was nice compared to that blistering winter and yet he missed the cold..His thick pelt made it somewhat hard to tolerate but this place was just perfect, not too hot but not too cold.

Hello?

Mercury called out to the canine, ears pricking to listen for a response. Nostrils flaring to take the scent in more, herbs..citrus..a spice and a flower, lilies to be specific. He didn't know the scent itself, or who it belonged to but the smell of spice interested him.

Curiosity would perhaps be the end of Nadya one day, but today was not that day. She pushed herself forward with a fervor and a determination that was not unlike her spirit, commanding, stubborn, and entirely out of her element as she wandered through the changing scenery. But she would not be stopped, not when her intrigue was like a soothing balm against her skin and her desire to know more became her guiding light.

She traveled forward, ears perked atop her head as her eyes narrowed against the warm air. Her call was met by another, a simple word so quickly cast into the void of something unreal. She paused as her head twisted toward the source, Hello? She echoed back.

It had not taken long before a man, draped in the colors of an autumnal sun, with a scent akin to a burning wood, stood before her. She did not recognize him, but when had that ever stopped the Bacchus woman?

Who are you? She called out to the silhouette as her paws moved to eat the distance.
