Everything felt at peace. Asiel's tail wagged slow and methodical behind her, perfectly pleased with her slug-watching. At least, until the wind shifted and brought to her the scent of an ocean, which struck her as odd, because as far as she knew, there was no ocean around the area.
Her head turned toward him and periwinkle eyes met amber. He was beautiful, like the earth itself was beautiful, and Asiel's gaze softened a bit as she studied the rich browns adorning his pelt.
"Hello," she greeted simply, content to wait and see what he chose to do.
