The world greeted her with the familiarity of colour, nothing too bright, just the soft shimmer of the shores, glimmering as they woke under the first breath of a brittle, crisp morning.

Lori had woken many times before, but something about today felt different. She’d been dreaming, that same dream again, over and over, like it was on a constant loop of repetition, the waves, the storm, Poseidon’s wrath – if memory served her right, it was all still there. But she was now here.

Wherever here was.

The feint glow of fragments of coral, those strange, familiar pink essences of marine life were seemingly scattered across the sand.

She’d stirred for a moment, regaining her composure, sensing the shift in the tide, the water creeping upwards to her paws, cool, deliberate – and she let it, she let it touch her, let it linger then finally rose.

The sky was muted, the common grey’s, pinks, fluffed clouds.

It was nice.

She lifted herself slowly, shaking the sand from her coat, it clung to her like barnacles did the rocky outcrops, though she barley noticed, barely cared. Her gaze shifted across the shoreline, it was calm here, beneath its softness, a beautiful place. Truly.

But where was she?

The tide pulled back, and her gaze clocked the waves rolling. Was the sea judging her?

Where an earth…am I?

skill: vagabond

If Oakley had awaken to a completely new world he would have never known it. Since he had left his home pack and with it, the pennisula of Torbine, he had only been met with lands unknown. People and cultures he had never met or understood. The world was a vast one and very quickly he came to realize he knew very little of it. As it were, this day he woke into a completely different realm. Time and space between where he once once had walked endlessly stretched. Still, he woke up ready to greet the day with whatever it might throw at him.

Tawny limbs stretched out over the soft loam of rich land, straddling where the white sands of the beach met soil of the mire. He lifted himself up with a lean back and rolled out tongue with a wide yawn. Scents of the murky mire behind him and salty winds from the beach ahead mingled to greet him.

Following the sound of the tide, he would pause to wriggle toes on pale white beachside. Eyes of earth and sea scanning vast, open ocean. Then, down the beach, he would spot a young woman. A little sprite of a lady, with a molted coat made of blue-grqy sea rock and white foam. His tail waves low behind him and he takes a few paces into her direction and calls out (though hopefully not too loud to startle), Hello there!

The call drifted her back to her senses, pulling her momentarily from the very rhythm of the tide – the tide that had seemingly brought her upon this very place of mystery.

Her ears twitched first, and a gentle smile betrayed her features – then her head lifted, though she did not startle.

A stranger stood downwind, looking all tawny and autumnal against the otherwise pale of the backdrop of the sea itself and her paws would shift against the wet sands.

She regarded them, gaze licking before speaking; Hello.

Her tail gave a faint flick at her hind – though it was neither welcoming nor dismissive, more so she’d acknowledged his presence.
