The ranks among druids are not measures of hierarchy or control. Rather, they reflect a circle of equals, where each participant is an integral part of the whole. We cannot function without every piece of the circle, and each individual is honored as essential to the harmony of the community.

Leader: Toisiche “TAY-shuh”

        The toisiche serves as the guide of the circle, gathering the voices and feedback of all and helping to shape decisions with the wisdom of the community. Though often seen as the head of the druidic circle, they walk alongside their fellow druids, requiring and honoring the counsel of all.

Hunter: Sealgair “SHAH-luh-kur”

The sealgair are entrusted with respectfully providing sustenance for the circle. They walk in harmony with nature, taking only what is needed, and honoring each life given through their actions, prayers, and gratitude.

Bard:

Storyteller - Seanchaidh “SHAN-ə-khee”

The seanchaidh are the keepers of the circle’s stories and histories. They recount the lessons of the past, ensuring the wisdom of those who came before guides the decisions of today.

Artist - Ealadair “AEL-aes-deh-r”

        The ealadair foster the creative spirit within the circle, crafting art that honors nature and weaves the soul of all living things into their work. They are central to festivals, bringing beauty and reverence to every gathering.

Singer - Òranaiche “OR-uh-knee-shah”

Masters of song and dance, the òranaiche perform with voices and movement that pay homage to the forces of nature. Through their artistry, they express the circle’s reverence for the world around them.

Ovate:

Seer - Fiosaiche “FEE-oh-sa-ch”

The fiosaiche commune closely with the spirits of nature, listening to the whispers of the world and guiding the circle toward healing and harmony with the earth.

Healer - Lighiche “LEE-ih-chuh”

        The lighiche are the caretakers of the body, versed in natural remedies and the ways of the earth, using the gifts of nature to bring healing and comfort to those in need.

Shaman - Seuman “SI-mən”

        The seuman guide the spiritual life of the circle, leading rituals and festivals with knowledge of the old lore and the ways of honoring nature and the spirits.

Druid:

Sage - Gliceach “GLEE-ch-uh-ch”

Often among the elders of the circle, the gliceach cherish knowledge in all its forms. They seek wisdom continuously, offering guidance rooted in understanding to aid the circle’s decisions.

Craftsman - Ceàrdair “CAR-dee”

The ceàrdair are practical artists, crafting tools and items that bring comfort, function, and accessibility to daily life within the circle, ensuring the well-being of all.

Warrior: Mìlidh “MEEL-ee”

While druids are naturally peaceful and slow to rise to violence, the mìlidh understand that protection is sometimes necessary. They defend the circle and the balance of nature with determination, rising only when the need is true.

Newcomer: Saor “SEER”

New members of the circle, known as saor, are welcomed to explore all paths until they discover the role that aligns with their spirit. They are encouraged to learn, experience, and find where their gifts best serve the whole.

Child: Pàiste “PAW-ee-sh”

        The pàiste are the next generation of druids, cherished and protected as they grow. They are guided gently in the ways of the circle, learning the rhythms and cycles of nature and the values of peace and reverence.

The circle welcomes souls from all walks of life. Druids Rise is a place of peace and healing, a sanctuary where one can reconnect with nature and rediscover who they are meant to be. It is a place to grow, to find stillness, and to embrace the gentle rhythm of the earth.

The Fàilteach - “FAAL-ch” welcoming
A meeting will be held at the Guiding Stone, where the newcomer will be introduced to the circle as a whole. They will be welcomed with warmth and acceptance, invited to release the weight of their past and embrace a new identity if they wish to heal. Whatever the newcomer decides will be respected. They may choose a path to pursue within the circle, or they may take on the role of saor, free to wander and take the time they need to explore their options within Druids Rise.

The Subhachas - “SU-əxəs” celebration
After their introduction, a celebration will be held. Respect will be offered to the spirits of the land, and the air will come alive with music and dance. Art will be created, laughter will be shared, and the newcomer will be gently welcomed into the rhythms and rituals of druidic life.

Marriage, is seen as a beautiful union of souls, held in high regard within the circle. There are no restrictions on how many may join in a single union, as all forms of love are respected and cherished. As long as all involved give and receive respect, both to each other and to the earth, their union will be welcomed and honored within Druids Rise.

Gu sìorraidh is gu bràth  - Forever and always
The toisiche or seuman will lead the ceremony, depending on who is available and the wishes of those being united. The circle will gather at the Guiding Stone, where the souls to be joined will speak words of union, affirming their commitment before the circle and the land. They will then offer a gift to nature, whether to the spirits of air, earth, water, or fire, the choice is theirs. From there, a celebration will follow in their honor, filled with dancing, singing, and feasting, as the circle comes together to welcome and bless their union.

Tha gaol agam ort – I love you

Birth is held in the highest regard within the circle, as new life is brought forth into the world. It is seen as the ultimate honor to the cycle and rhythm of nature, a sacred reminder of the earth’s promise of renewal. Each life is cherished, held near and dear by the circle, and welcomed with reverence and joy.

The Fàilte - “FAAL-chuh” welcome
During birth, rituals and prayers are offered to the spirits, asking for a safe and gentle delivery for the mother. Songs are sung, food is prepared, and the circle waits patiently, holding space for new life to enter the world. After the birth, the circle ensures the new mother has all she needs, from nourishing meals to comforting company, should she desire it.
A few weeks after birth, a meeting is held at the Guiding Stone. There, each new member is formally introduced to the circle, their place within the community honored and lovingly affirmed.

The circle recognizes that life and death walk hand in hand. As painful as loss can be, it is a natural part of existence that deserves respect. Those who have passed will be honored and remembered fondly within the circle, their lives celebrated as threads woven into the fabric of the community, never truly gone from the heart of Druids Rise.

Chi mi a-rithist thu - I'll see you again
Those who have passed will be returned to the earth through burial, allowing their bodies to nourish the land they once walked. A celebration will be held in their honor. While it is a time to mourn, it is also a time to remember the cycle of life and to cherish the memory of those who have gone before. Songs will be sung, prayers spoken, and food shared. In the comfort of the circle, laughter will be sought, honoring the life that was lived while embracing the rhythm of nature’s promise of renewal.

A graceful ring of violets blooming in the upper right quadrant of Druids Rise. Their vivid purple hues create a striking backdrop for the circle’s rites, rituals, and festivals, calling to the group’s spirituality and connection with the surrounding nature.

Fourthdale
The central meeting point of the four streams that flow through Druids Rise. Here, the healing waters converge, making it an ideal place for rites, rituals, and quiet reflection.

Sunpetal Harvest
A radiant ring of sunflowers brightening the lower left quadrant of Druids Rise. Their cheerful yellow blooms bring joy and liveliness to the circle, providing a perfect setting for gatherings, festivals, and celebrations.

Roseweave
A lush ring of rose bushes flourishing in the lower right quadrant of Druids Rise. Their deep red blossoms add a touch of romance and solemn beauty, making this area well-suited for more intimate or reflective rites and ceremonies.

Blueberry Basking
Marking the western boundary of Druids Rise, this area is abundant with blueberry bushes heavy with fruit in season. Outside of harvest, the greenery and blossoms provide a tranquil, beautiful backdrop to the Rise’s open expanses.

The Goldenwood
The eastern boundary of Druids Rise is formed by a deep forest of golden-hued trees. Home to many who dwell within the Rise, this woodland offers sanctuary and shelter, providing privacy and peace for those seeking rest and recovery.

The Guiding Stone
A large, weathered stone in the upper left quadrant of Druids Rise, serving as the circle’s meeting ground. Here, needs are shared, decisions are made collectively, and the community’s path is guided through discussion and mutual understanding
