Thread is for Carnifex!

At first it was water; everything was water, the burning sensation of breath in water and the ache of something stabbing ribs. It did not know what was happening, just that pain was there and strong; a throbbing pain ached in the side of a canine, an image burned into memory.

Bear awoke, nestled beneath a tree hollowed out by something larger than the average wolf; he reeked of salt, sea salt. His heart drummed in his ears, everything screamed, and colors were bright and right in his face when he awoke. The red of the leaves was a punch to his little eyes; slowly, the pup crawled its way from the hollowed den spot. Tiny ears twitching beneath thick fluffy fur, his oranges had yet to come in, just appearing like a little bear cub as of now.

His head ached, recalling something...a monster. Was it a monster...? He was unsure, just aware of a beast and faintly knowing a smell. Where had he even come from? He did not remember a family, a mother... Whimpering, the pup wandered for a bit before eventually realizing he was lost and unable to find the den he had woken in. Terrified of the great beyond, outside of the trees he'd briefly looked around at, Bear let out a cry, a shrill sound that echoed off the trees.

Ranger

Carnifex was living his best life, without change, without turmoil, doing his duties as Champion and maintaining the borders that rarely get visitors. The dreams come yes, but that doesn't have anything to do with him, thank you. As long as Raisa doesn't go running off to find the runes, he's happy being a homebody.

He was returning from a quick hunting trip, a deer dangling from his jaws, when he heard a high pitched cry that stopped him in his tracks. The tiger's ears swiveled around, pin pointing where the noise was coming from as another cry reached him.

What the fuck is that?

Curiosity grabbed the cat by the scruff, his silent paws leading him to....some little thing that he just stared at with pale blue eyes. Slowly, he set the deer down and crouched, still staring at this...small bear?

Speech Emotional Actions Thoughts

The pup wailed and wailed till he could no more, his throat sore from his cries and his ears ringing from the ache of his head. Slowly the bear-looking pup laid down; looking around blearily, he could hardly focus on everything around him, not with the ringing in his ears.

With a whimper, the little one squinted, barely noticing the eyes staring at him, bright blues that stuck out against the reds. His ears perked forwards some, nose twitching curiously at the beast; slowly he stood up, legs still wobbly as he readjusted to the smaller size. Carefully, Bear walked up to the tiger, unaware of what it was or who, but curiosity gripped him like a cat with catnip.

Tripping over his own paws, Bear fell forwards onto his chest, right in front of the tiger. Curiously, he stared upwards at the blue eyes staring at him, tail wagging slowly, he scrambled to sit up, staring beady eyed at the giant creature.

Carnifex watched, and watched, so hard that he startled backwards slightly when the little thing fell in front of him. Tail twitching in embarrassment, he stared at the little bear even harder.

It was...wagging it's tail, like a wolf did.

Did bears do that?

The gears were turning in his head, if you listened close enough you could hear the rusty teeth grinding against eachother from lack of use, his eyebrows pinched together as he leaned forward to sniff at the little bear...wolf? Why are you so small... his voice was deep, rumbling, as he sniffed again. This was a wolf, most definitely, but he's never seen one this size! A rare breed?

Bear stared at the tiger, eyes narrowing, and he grumbled a bit when the beast startled. Was he so scary he could scare something much bigger than himself? He questioned it, even wanting to test it, but he dared not test what this beast could do yet.

With a little growl, Bear hopped to his back legs, struggling to balance but planted his front paws onto the tiger's nose, or well...nose bridge. His nose twitched, sniffing the face of this feline over and not caring about the risk of being eaten. He was curious, too curious? Probably.

I'm no' small, you are jus...stupidly large!
