Satakhetem walked with her head high, long limbs carrying her forward with the unhurried grace of one who expected the very earth to reshape itself beneath her paws. Behind her trailed the others—the mountain that was Mesen-ka, the jodai Sapair and his serpent Ashait—but she paid them little mind. They were escorts, nothing more. Tools to deliver her to what should have been hers by right.

The air grew drier, harsher, carrying the bite of scorched stone and ancient dust.

Then the horizon changed.

There, rising from the smoldering wastes like the finger of a god piercing the sky, stood Skyspear.

Satakhetem burned with quiet fury and something sharper: entitlement. This place should have welcomed her as its missing daughter, instead it stood silent and imposing, as though it had already chosen its rulers. A vein throbbed at her temple. How dare they, she murmured, voice low and edged with ruinous calm. The words were for herself alone, yet they carried the weight of heka. They have built a throne upon a monument and named it theirs while I wandered lost between worlds.

The shadow did not look back at her escorts. They had served their purpose. Now the monolith—and the kingdom it housed—would answer to her.

She stopped a short distance from the grand approach, ears forward, nostrils flaring to catch the mingled scents of desert wolves, incense, and power. Satakhetem stood tall before the towering pyramid, the molten gold threading her dark coat gleaming like living fire under the desert sun. Let them come.

Let them see what had been displaced… and what would no longer be denied.

Jodai had time to turn the princess over in thought. She would fail where the other sister succeeded, for no kingdom was ever forged from a contempt for its people.
And yet. She was iron. She was exacting, as all strong royals must be.
Might she be a change Satriya needed? Or would she rail against its success?
“No longer, amiirad Satakhetem.” These questions would be answered. Khaemwaset would receive his sister.
Sapair lent his voice to the sky, carrying the word ahead.
The black horizon had arrived.

sorry for the wait! i can start a backdated 'throne room' thread if anyone would like :3

hard step turned khusobek in said direction. he knew sapair only in a cursory way though recognized the summons, a rote soldier answering the command of another.

the woman of gold and darkness beside the jodai was familiar in a way that riffled long claws through the dewy hints of his heart. the serpent upon the sands glowed with gentle reflection -- another mazoi.

khusobek did not speak for satriya, as sapair had brought this one unto them. a foreigner then? no. a princess? her bearing forced that familiarity to grow, and he set his coldblue eyes upon her opulent face with expectation.
