Another day, another body in the lake.
Dimitri stares out at the figure, ears perking back slightly. Just lying there on the shore. He doesn't open his mouth, not for a bit, because he's busy with a ritual. Arrange the stones by the lake in such a way, and the dark will stay away. He doesn't think about why it works, just that it must. That's the only thing to keep the visions at bay.
With the rocks settled, he glances back at the stranger. The stranger that hasn't moved, but whose chest rises and falls. There should be fear there, because he was told that sometimes spirits from the otherworld are hostile, but he no longer feels any fear looking at others. He assumes they're going to hate him regardless, and he no longer needs their approval. Besides, a spirit can see through you. And this one is corporeal now, coming into form, but who knows how long his sight will last?
Dimitri clears his throat. "Do you intend on staying there all day?"
Rejoice despite the fact this world will kill you
Rejoice despite the fact this world will tear you to shreds
Rejoice because you’re trying your best
