”I…I don’t think it is..possible!” she said between her lips and Eilidh, the little pup looking wide eyed at her mother but otherwise indifferent to her situation. ”I can take him!” she said confidently as she turned around again, ready to dash out of the den with Eilidh and stash her somewhere safe. Could she actually take him? Probably not. Could she use her assassin training from her mother? Sure…but she was never that good at it, and didn’t pay attention properly. She most certainly was not her mother, who she knew didn’t even like being a mother.
It took a moment for Kirain’s words to sink in. Her head was out of the den, looking around for Lestan or any of the other girls in the pack. Perhaps she could hand off the puppies. She hears Kirain’s words but doesn’t know what to make of it as she looked around holding Eilidh, who giggled a bit on her little adventure.
She feels Kirain’s nip then, and she turns a bit confused. She pulled herself back into the den, breathing quickly. ”Wait…what? Are you sure?” she places Eilidh down gently. ”Wait, were you pulling my tail? ‘Cause I WILL take them away if I need to,” she stated firmly, taking a deep breath. Was Kirain just joking with her? Was there some truth in her words???
