The ritual had led to a sign, the clap of thunder and the wind playing in his and Wardruna's fur before taking off, leading the pair elsewhere on the mountain range. As the pair chased after it, Vitus was putting the puzzle pieces together in his mind, which was mostly him thinking he should see what happens with a live sacrifice, or at least a freshly killed...but what if he had gotten this sign because the deer was an older kill?
What if the plagued lands needed the rot to answer?
He needs to test his theory, but first, the task at hand.
