They had new neighbors to the east, and Kirain spared herbs, berries, and a couple of her own druids to celebrate with them. Stardust seemed uneasy about the suggestion, so Juniper was more than happy to accompany the star-speckled woman. The harsh winter they had this season left many of them to shelter in place. Quite frankly, the druid was developing a small amount of cabin fever.
It also gave them a reason to spruce up.
Many swipes of their own forelimb over their ear dislodge the tattered tangle of vines around their ear. The dried out material cracked and flaked, but Juniper had an extra set of paws in Southeast. Enlisting the boy to pick out the large pieces of a plant material from their fur, Juniper then stole out in to the cold and dropped into the snow. Rolling around in the drifts to freshen up in lieu of a proper bath.
Returning to the den, she hunted around for a collection of juniper she had collected prior. Settling on a few sprigs and berries, she utilized her boy once again to adorn herself just right. In return, she tangled fresh pine needles into his hackles and a few well preserved maple leaves from the autumn.
Hoping her own preparations did not take too long, Juniper was overjoyed to find Stardust well-groomed herself. Rose and lavender scent delicately drifted from her friend's pelt. A perfume Juniper simply must ask the recipe for.
As they approached the Howff, the cold air carried more than a sweet scent on the wind. Raucous laughter and song poured out of the strange structure. It was a construction Juniper was unfamiliar with. Something wolves could not have made themselves. How curious.
Well, I guess we gotta see what this is about.
It certainly sounds like a party inside.
Juniper smiled as Stardust braved the door. Their assumption was certainly right on the money. Wolves dominated the space inside. Some dancing, some howling with song, and plenty enjoyed the berries Kirain provided for the occasion. A scrappy welcome is given by a calico wolf. Her smile broad, but more eye-catching was the golden objects around her neck and paws. The sparse moonlight that filtered through the windows glinted off the strange material, and Juniper was more than intrigued in what the woman had found.
Glancing to her company, Juniper hid an amused smile with her wrist. Stifling a laugh at the evident shock on Stardust's face, she nudged the taller woman's shoulder.
Let's find you a wall so you can take it all in.Juniper pointed with her nose to their right where stone decorated the wooden wall. Making sure Stardust had a moment to comprehend, Juniper slipped into the crowd. Weaving past the other partygoers with her small frame. Taking a seat by the fireplace, she watched to make sure Stardust made it. In this corner, it would give them a nice view of the festivities gathering around the bar.
