As Vivarium roars to life, there are many characters currently active on the site to celebrate! As proof of hard work and character development, this is a place to recognize characters of importance throughout Vivarium! On (or around) the first of the month, a random character will be chosen to be put in the spotlight.

How, you may ask? By random number generator!
Why a random number generator? This is to keep it as fair and fun as possible!

Also, everyone loves a good surprise ...

Each month, the staff will roll a random number that connects to an in-character account. If that account has over 50 posts and is currently active on the site (this means a post has bene made within the last month!), it will be chosen as the character of the month and will be featured here. Those who don't want to participate can personally DM a staff member at any time!

June blooms, and Dr. Bacchus prospers!

Starting our Character of the Month trend is none other than Dr. Bacchus , a familiar face from realms past and present! Our local physician has quite a few stories to share! Her primary job is set as a healer in Elysium, however, she is also known as a traveling doctor whose benevolence has earned her good graces with many other packs. To some, she is a healer ... to others, she may tower above as a looming Russian soldier. Depending on the day, you never know which side of this lovely woman you may see. Despite her cold exterior, she is rather tender-hearted, but be certain never to cross her ...

She continues to live in Elysium with her children and husband, Mordecai ... waiting, waiting, waiting for the lost soul of her ex-husband, Crux , to return to her. Perhaps someday her voodoo magics will pay off. May her future be blessed.

July ends, and Madmortigan 's reign begins!

Not much is known about the Harbringer of Labyrinthian, for even the pack is laced with mystery. It is known, loosely, that they praise a mysterious entity known as The Wolf, but outside of that, very little is known about these mysterious souls. More recently, Madmortigan has aligned his pack with another, Elkshire, in the form of an arranged marriage. Teodora1 has been offered to be his wife and to settle into a prosperous marriage to benefit both halves of the arrangement.

With children and a marriage on the horizon, everything seemed to be falling into place ... however, Madmortigan would be given his fair share of troubles in the form of his brother, Melchior, kidnapping a member of their allied pack. Alas, what was supposed to be a beautiful wedding and honeymoon has now become a wild goose-chase, with both packs rallying to bring Mauve home!

August brings new life for Jade !

Jade has lived a strained life, trapped in the shadows of an unfortunate past. In his younger years, he lost his mother unexpectedly ... and just as quickly as she was erased from his life, so too were his name and identity stripped away. He was left as a blank slate — something new and ripe for the taking. And that new life would find him in Warcrest, living under Nyra and Satan 's watchful gazes. He would soon realize that he did not have the same devious tendencies as his more carnivorous adoptive parents, and he eventually grew brave enough to try to escape from the pits of the pack. Thankfully, he was able to leave, where he met a kind soul ( Izumi ), being quickly adopted into the ranks of the Fujiwara Dynasty.

A new path has seemed to open up for Jade, and hopefully, it is something that will heal the turmoil of his past.

Don't wake Aerys up before September ends ...

Poor Aerys has not had an easy life. As soon as she arrived in Vivarium, the poor young girl was captured and forced to face torment within moments. At first, the thought of arriving in a new place held promise, but the new world would strip her away of her innocence almost instantly. Entrapped by a possessive Banesteppe, Aerys was taken away to The Saints, and subjected to the maniacal torment of brothers Jaxxon and Joxer. And now, an unexpected pregnancy looms over her ... will this be an upturn in this bleak life? A new chapter? Or will continued torment continue to follow her at every turn?

October for the Prince! Warwick!

Warwick is the eldest out of Queen Célnes's litter from another realm. Not only was he born to the Queen, his handsome brown coat color is a highlight of the most desirable Déorwine traits. Despite the prejudice and colorism that many scrutinize Elkshire for, Warwick's kind-hearted nature left him far more accepting of others, and far less discriminatory. He is kind, but he is also loyal to his family, and to his pack. However, being the "favorite" comes with a cost, which, in this case, is 11 other siblings who were left feeling displaced. Some were resentful, some lashed out ... while others ran away with little hope of return. But the loyal Duke continues to hold hope for them all, despite dwindling numbers in this new world. He would devoutly continue his duties, searching for a missing Mauve and caring for his injured mother.

And yes, somehow, despite it all, the handsome man has managed to gather quite the set of suitors ...

Joxer seizes November!

Since arriving on the scene with his brother Jaxxon , Joxer has certainly caused a stir throughout Vivarium! Known for his chaotic nature and his general sadistic tendencies, Joxer has made his mark not only among the wolves of The Saints but across the lands as a whole. Through his cunning leadership and crafty charisma, he has created The Saints in record time, filling the land of Mistveil with the souls of the wayward and giving all outcasts a home within their fog. Beware crossing paths with this male, lest you fall victim to his ways!

December warms up with Mauve 

The ever-lovely Ms. Bridgerton has had a very eventful few seasons in Vivarium ... what began as a simple existence in Elkshire quickly changed to a life of danger after her capture by former Labyrinthian wolf, Melchior . After a grand retrieval from her obsessed possessor by Warwick and Hendrickson , Mauve would return home ... somehow feeling oddly empty.  Cozying up with a suave loner named Alaric , the two made plans together to build a home for those who have been lost. And after the Elkshire Queen's death, Mauve has finally set off with Alaric, leaving her past to build a new future.

Mauve's life has been full of strife and loss ... can she finally find a home? And perhaps find love?

Tiberii kicks off January with a bang! 

We eagerly welcome January’s character of the month - the rambunctious Tiberii! Fiery, stubborn, and utterly untamable, she’s the spitting image of her father Tiberius. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and this is a phrase the hardheaded young Shakti-Vaès fully encapsulates - well-meant innocence meets a bull in a China shop.

In spite of her... excitable nature, she is fiercely loyal to those within her circle and strives to be the best she can be for her family and friends; one couldn’t ask for a truer companion.

Nyra sets February ablaze! 

February’s Character of the Month brings none other than the infamous Queen of Warcrest, Nyra ! Fearless and relentless, this mother and wife is a chaotic force to be reckoned with. From her quick words to even quicker actions, this war maiden has proven that she is not one to be trifled with. Currently in the midst of their move after a tragic earthquake, Nyra has helped to coordinate Warcrest’s relations with neighboring packs, while also managing to help keep Warcrest’s members safe (and in line).

Only time will tell what the future holds for Nyra, her family, and her pack as they make their way North to settle somewhere new.
