Well now, this was a pretty bit of news! Lyra tilted her head, smile broadening over her lips, Labhraím Gaeilge, sea. (I speak Irish, yes.)
Her tail lifted, giving a faint wag.
Tigers were fearsome beasts, good at hunting, and good at deterring invasion or misbehavior. Having one at the inn, loyal to the Howff, wasn't the sort of deal one liked to pass up. She wouldn't be greedy. And if it was an invader in disguise, only pretending to be friendly, well, she couldn't rightly fight off a tiger on her own! So being nice was the only option.
We'd be glad t'ave ye stayin' wit' us in return fer vittles, aye.
A nod, Why, wit' words like tat, we oughta stick t'gether, eh? Good t'be in familiar company.
