Summer freed him from the rain; and this he was grateful for ─ quickly determining that he didn't like to get wet, an addition to the list of many things Monty decided he didn't appreciate. So when the morning greeted him with the sun on his face and most importantly dry ground he was content to exit the den; after giving a wayward glance to mom and dad and the agreement that he wasn't allowed to go far...yet. But maybe not ever with the way they looked after them.
So he would have to settle with something nearby to do, maybe one of his brothers or sisters would be up; his age made him antsy, made him want to do more, test his bodies limits. With a huff he looked back at the den again. ❝ ...Alric? Raiz? You guys comin'? ❞ he beckoned, ears tipped back as he scrunched his nose and padded off to the open grasses of the valley.
A bug would catch his attention, lowering his body rump high in the air before pouncing it only for the little critter to bounce away to another safer leaf. Monty's eyes narrowed, tongue out the side of his mouth pinched between his teeth as he readied himself to try again, determined to catch it.
